A week of adventures

It has been a week of adventures and developments here with Momma, Daddy, and Baby JAM!

1)  On Friday, the Judge released his decision in the big case Momma has been working on and .... we won!!!   This is a really big deal in world of Energy law and it is a very exciting turn in the career.  It was pretty much an impossible victory, but we did it!

2)  To celebrate, Momma, Daddy, and Baby JAM went to Vancouver, BC over the weekend!  Vancouver is just a 3 hour drive from Seattle, and it is a fantastic international city.  We decided to just make this a short trip and we scoped out the city for future visits. We ate lots of yummy food (poutine, sushi, dim sum) and walked around the city.  We loved the Asian-influenced architecture and all the food options.  Can't wait to go back and check out the art scene and enjoy more time outdoors when it warms up.  Here is a photo JAM and I took while we were waiting to cross the border back into the USA.

3)  Baby JAM is growing so fast!  He is now 8.5 months old, and each day he seems to be learning a new skill.  He has been so funny in imitating all the crazy sounds Daddy makes for him, but it is difficult to catch those sounds on tape!  This week he mastered the art of sticking his tongue out (there was a period where he couldn't figure out how to get it outside of his lips), is working on standing up, and is learning to feed himself.  Every day is so fun!

Driving in my car ...

The jumperoo was no longer favored by the little prince, so we sold that and now have the most awesome walker ever.  He has not yet figured out how to move his legs (and thus, move the car), but he is enjoying honking the horn!

It's tough being a baby

It's tough playing with toys all day.

Daily Observations of Life in Seattle

1.  There was a time in my life where I would look forward to watching the State of the Union and would plan my evening around it.  That was the time when DC was right for me.  Last night I saw that it was on and thought "ugh, I'll watch chopped instead."  Reaffirms that DC wasn't right for me anymore.

2.  Looking for events in Seattle.  Ran across a blurb for a book talk by Al Gore.  Love that they say:  The former president of the United States of America (that's not a misprint, just the truth) discusses his book ...

3.  Love how laid back and non-pretentious people are here.  The casualness of the reporters on NPR make me smile.
